About

Niki Gudex is one of Australia’s most recognisable and highly regarded female mountain bikers. A professional athlete who reached the top of the world mountain bike rankings, Niki Gudex is now throwing herself into the art of photography with the same tenacity. She has competed in both Downhill (DH) and Cross Country (XC), and after only two years of professional riding won the Australian National Championships Series in both disciplines. She has raced on the Australian DH and XC National teams, performing at both national and international biking events. She placed in the top ten of the 2008 All Mountain World Championships in California, USA.

A remarkable sporting resume combined with stunning looks has Niki regularly featuring in stories, shoots and interviews across all mediums and throughout the world. She has appeared on the cover of the internationally acclaimed Black & White magazine, as well as doing covers for both Chick and FHM, amongst others. Magazines ranging from fashion bible Vogue to music’s Rolling Stone have done pieces on her, as well as America’s high-end men’s lifestyle/travel magazine Outside go. Readers of Inside Sport have voted her as “Australia’s Sexiest Sportswoman”, and she has appeared on FHM’s Top 100 beautiful women in the world list for six successive years.

Niki’s overwhelming respect and following in cycling circles has demanded a huge fan base and exceptional sponsor relationships. Working alongside a number of international companies, as a global brand ambassador for Oakley, Scott bikes, and Castelli cycling apparel. She promotes her sport and sponsors at cycling trade shows such as Interbike and Eurobike, and is often requested to ‘guest coach’ at training camps throughout Europe and North America. Niki was the race ambassador for Perth’s Cape to Cape, a role that illustrates her diversity to be able to not only compete in a grueling four day contest but also be the ‘face’ of the event, handling interviews and the media.

Graduating from the University of Wollongong with a Bachelor of Creative Arts majoring in Graphic Design and New Media, Niki was also crowned the Universities ‘Sportsperson Of The Year’.

With a careful balance of racing and extra curricular activities, Niki continually contributed back to her sport, including writing a regular column in mountain biking magazine Revolution, and working on action sports and biking television programs.
