Spanish mountain bike magazine Bike profiles Niki in their newest section focused on encouraging women into the sport of mountain biking. In the new columns debut article, Niki tells the sun soaked women of Spain what fuels her enthusiasm for riding some of the toughest trails around the world.
Niki Gudex is Australia’s most recognisable and highly regarded female mountain biker. She competes in both Downhill (DH) and Cross Country (XC), and after only two years of professional riding won the Australian National Championships Series in both disciplines. She has raced on the Australian DH and XC National teams, and continues to perform at both national and international biking events. Just recently, she placed in the top ten of the 2008 All Mountain World Championships in California, USA.
The first inaugural Cape to Cape MTB takes place in Western Australia’s Margaret River region from 22nd to 25th October, 2008. Set to an iconic backdrop of world-famous surf beaches, private farmlands, rocky outcrops and national forests, the Cape to Cape MTB is a four-day mountain bike journey covering roughly 175km of bush and beach tracks along the coastal ridge from Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse in Augusta to Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse in Yallingup.
