After two highly successful years, Niki is proud to present her third signature Niki Gudex line with Castelli. Niki’s multifaceted career as a professional mountain bike racer, model and graphic designer shows that everything is possible. With stylish women’s performance, Niki takes the fashionable, colorful and feminine 2009 Niki Gudex collection to an even higher level.
“I am really excited to be able to put together my own signature line. I race hard and I train hard, so I really wanted to design something that not only delivered technically but something that was also playful and fun to wear.” Niki Gudex
Niki Gudex is Australia’s most recognisable and highly regarded female mountain biker. She competes in both Downhill (DH) and Cross Country (XC), and after only two years of professional riding won the Australian National Championships Series in both disciplines. She has raced on the Australian DH and XC National teams, and continues to perform at both national and international biking events. Just recently, she placed in the top ten of the 2008 All Mountain World Championships in California, USA.
The first inaugural Cape to Cape MTB takes place in Western Australia’s Margaret River region from 22nd to 25th October, 2008. Set to an iconic backdrop of world-famous surf beaches, private farmlands, rocky outcrops and national forests, the Cape to Cape MTB is a four-day mountain bike journey covering roughly 175km of bush and beach tracks along the coastal ridge from Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse in Augusta to Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse in Yallingup. “Her name may make her sound like some kind of robotic seductress, but in reality she’s a world-class mountain biker. Her legs look long and sleek, but underneath lie pistons of steel. Our guess is she could probably beat the crap out of you too. Yes, we can tell.”
Skidding in just one position behind Ana Ivanovic, Niki placed third overall in the FHM poll.
As a guest coach, Niki provided specialist one on one mountain bike training and led group rides, with all kids benefiting greatly from the unique eight day experience at Canada’s legendary Whistler Bike Park. The Oakley week at the Camp of Champions attracted a town packed full of aspiring young thrill seekers all keen to learn new skills on their mountain bikes, skis and snowboards.
Niki has again added a personal touch to her latest bikes, designing the spectacular looking graphics.
Niki is thrilled to have placed in the top ten at the grueling All-Mountain World Championships in Downieville, California. Despite injury forcing a limited preparation, Niki finished 9th in the testing two day discipline that combines XC and DH times into the one event. Niki capped off her successful weekend by claiming the 2008 Pixie-Cross World Title!
After a highly successful first year, Niki is proud to announce the second year of her signature Niki Gudex line with Castelli, the half century-old cycling apparel maker from the Dolomites in Northern Italy. Thank you to the fans who sent in beautiful pictures wearing her designs and show their support.
“Many of the sport’s top riders travel the world showcasing their skills. We chatted with a few of them to hear some of their traveling tales, as well as pick their brains for some useful tips on globetrotting with your mountain bike.”
