"Ms Gudex possesses that very rare
but very powerful mix of both sporting prowess and stunning
looks. So just as Maria Sharapova looks as sexy pounding down
the line as she does frolicking semi-clad on a beach, so too
does 28-year old Niki look just as hot hammering down the
side of a mountain all covered in mud as she does in a bikini
in front of FHM's cameras. (Although we do prefer the mud
free, pre oiled and bikini clad version.) And cleverly, she's
just released a line of unusually sexified cycling apparel."

Hutchinson announced today it will be the
official tire sponsor of both the Saunier Duval-Prodir Pro
Tour team as well as Australian MTB racer Niki Gudex. These
two entities may seem at different ends of the cycling universe
but the lifestyle dirt rider and the Elite Spanish road outfit
come together where the dirt meets the road under the Scott
Bicycles and Hutchinson sponsorship umbrella.
No stranger to backing top flight Pro Tour
teams, Hutchinson is exploring new ground across the border
in Spain. After an off season that saw a number of high profile
signings including Iban Mayo and Gilberto Simoni, Saunier
Duval-Prodir has put their trust and confidence in Hutchinson's
proven quiver of racing tires.
Niki Gudex who has made a name for herself
as an up and coming Australian XC racer as well as a fashion
model and graphic designer will once again be tackling a diverse
mix of MTB events around the world. Gudex will be rolling
across the globe on her newly released signature Scott Contessa
Spark women's specific mountain bike equipped with a new line
of XC tires Hutchinson plans to unveil at the Sea Otter Classic.
We saw an opportunity to get behind
a great team and a great rider said Adam Micklin, Hutchinson
Tires North Americas manager. Aligning with Scott Bicycles
in the sponsorship arena is a sure way to build momentum and
we look forward to joining forces on a number of other projects
in the coming months.

"Looks, talent and sporting success.
Take a cold shower, put your oven gloves on - it's Alpha's
50 hottest sports stars of 2007. Starring Maria Sharapova,
LeBron James, Kristie Newton, Lucas Neill, Jodie Henry, Sonny
Bill, Niki Gudex, Kelly Slater and Danica Patrick."
"Australia's mountain bikers may not
often appear on the sports pages, but one Australian rider
definitely deserves broader appeal. Gudex is one of the few
mountain bikers to have won national championship series titles
in both cross-country and downhill racing - two very different
disciplines. The scars she's collected along the way may not
be great business for her part time modelling career, but
Gudex isn't too concerned: "I'd prefer to be a mountain
biker than a model anyway. You can look at a hill and think,
'I rode that.'"

(Between the lines of an interview)
"She is a pro mountain biker,
model and graphic designer; so strong and in the same time
so fragile, so young looking and so mature, innocent as a
child but with scars of a warrior she is a phenomenal
mixture of opposites, so opposite that meet together in one
name Niki!"
"To be completely honest most
of what Ive seen and read about Niki was making me doubt
whether everything she does is completely true. But if I havent
been that suspicious back then I couldnt be so convinced
right now in everything that I am telling you about her."

Castelli recently added a trio of powerful
marketing tools - a graphic and fashion designer, professional
cyclist, and a stunningly photogenic model. Luckily for Castelli,
all the talent is wrapped up in one person: Australian mountain
bike racer Niki Gudex.
Her sporting prowess, striking looks, vision,
professionalism and worldwide popularity make her the ideal
representative for Castelli. Racing for Castelli, Gudex will
also contribute to the scorpion's marketing effort as an apparel
designer and model. Not many athletes can design their gear
and show it off, too.
Niki is an authentic athlete and designer
and model, and her international fame has attracted cover
shots and feature stories, including front covers on a wide
range of magazines, explained Sören Jensen of Castelli.
Having her on our team is a tremendous plus, and we
look forward to having Niki representing Castelli."

Niki travelled to Peru with Bike magazine.
It was an epic mountain biking trip through the jungle and
up into the mountains and back down again. Live rockslides,
lots of mud, cold showers and plenty of trails.
